What is CoolGlide laser hair removal?

The Cool Glide Laser Hair removal system is cleared for permanent hair reduction.  It is a non-invasive laser specifically designed to eliminate undesired hair from all parts of the body.  The CoolGlide system generates intense, long pulsed laser light through an actively-cooled handpiece.  The laser effectively disables unwanted pigmented hair follicles, thus impairing their growth.   The laser's cold handpiece is placed gently on the skin and glides along as pulses of light are delivered from the laser.  When the light penetrates the skin, it selectively damages the root of the unwanted hair.

The CoolGlide can remove hair from all parts of the body including the face, legs, arms, underarms, and back as well as sensitive areas like the chest, nipples, and bikini line.

Does skin color make a difference in hair removal?

With CoolGlide's unique design we have the flexibility to treat all skin types.  Now even suntanned patients or those with darker pigmentation may be treated.  Patients with fair skin respond the best.

How many treatments are needed for hair removal?

The number of treatments you may require for optimal long-term benefits depend on the area you wish to have treated, the hair density and your hair's growth cycle.  Your hair grows in cycles and many factors influence its growth.  Age, ethnicity, weight, hormones, diet, medication and metabolism all play a part in your hair's location, thickness and resilience.

What is microdermabrasion

Micro-Dermabrasion is a comprehensive approach to skin care that is non-surgical, safe and effective. Practices in Europe have been using Micro-Dermabrasion treatments for years, and now men and women in the United States are experiencing the remarkable results of this exciting procedure. With Micro-Dermabrasion, you can see improvements in skin texture regardless of skin color.

What are the benefits of Micro-Dermabrasion over other procedures?

Recovery takes less time.
• Treatment sessions take less time.
• Discomfort is minimal.
• Normal activities can be resumed immediately

What can I expect after my collagen treatments?

Following collagen treatments, normal activities can be resumed immediately. Discomfort is minimal. The treatment site may have a little swelling, which may last a few hours. There may be some slight bruising which can be covered with make-up. Depending on the area treated, correction usually lasts from three to six months. Allergic reactions are rare, but may consist of prolonged redness, itching, and/or firmness at the injection site.

Will Sclerotherapy work on my veins?

Prior to treatment your doctor will review your complete medical history to determine how long you have had a problem with your veins, and the severity of the problem. They will need to know if the problem is exacerbated by physical activity, and if there has been any prior surgery or treatment on your veins. The doctor will test to determine if the venous system is affected. If it is, surgery may be advised before Sclerotherapy is attempted. If the area to be treated can be saved, Sclerotherapy will be recommended.

What are the treatments like?

The larger veins are usually treated first. Using a tiny syringe fitted with a micro-needle, your physician will inject a small amount of sclerosing agent into the vein. Sclerosing solution displaces the blood within the vein. It then causes irritation to the lining of the vein, making it swell shut. The needle is withdrawn and pressure to the area is applied immediately. While each vein may require several injections, most disappear in two weeks to two months. Most Sclerotherapy patients report little if any discomfort. A few may experience a mild burning sensation when the doctor injects the solution, but it stops in a few seconds.

How many treatments will I need?

Complete correction of the treated area is not expected on the first treatment. In most cases, about 50-70% of the treated vessels will be gone for good. However, new veins may appear and additional treatments are generally required for optimum results. These treatments may be in three week intervals.
