3 Ways to Transform Your Skin Care Routine This Fall

Aesthetic Dermatology Glenn Dale MDFalling leaves, pumpkin pie, and Thanksgiving just around the corner may be enough to get you to do a happy touchdown-worthy dance. To keep you in the good fall mood that you’re already in, it’s important to make sure that you’re not neglecting your skin. During the fall, it’s easy to forget about your skin which can cause it to become dry, dull, and chapped which is why we have created a list of three ways that you can transform your skin this fall from dry and dull to smooth and vibrant.

Use a Thicker Moisturizer

During the summer, it’s easy to get away with wearing a lightweight serum or moisturizer on your skin throughout the day but as the temperature get colder, you may need something that’s thicker and that has moisture in it. Try investing in a thicker, daytime moisturizing cream that you can put on under your makeup but that won’t leave your skin feeling dried out.

Don’t Forget to Exfoliate

If you have noticed that your skin is starting to look dry and flaky, then you should definitely invest in an exfoliating scrub. Scrubs are a great way for you to get rid of dry, dead skin which can help your skin look more revitalized and fresh. Additionally, the more you exfoliate your skin, the easier it will be to apply makeup.

Switch Up Your Face Wash

Sometimes one of the things that can dry your skin out the most is the type of face wash that you are using. Take a look at your cleanser and try switching to something that’s more moisturizing for the skin like a cream cleanser.

One thing that a lot of people are unaware of is that you should change your skincare routine as the weather changes. To learn more about skin care, schedule an appointment with us at our Glenn Dale office and call us at 301.249.0970.
