How to Make Sure Your Halloween Makeup Doesn’t Give You Some Serious Acne
- Posted on: Oct 15 2018
One of the most fun parts about the Halloween season is heading out to parties with friends or family and dressing up. No matter what stage you are in in your life or how old you are, it’s still fun to put together a Halloween costume and enjoy yourself. If your costume requires costume makeup, however, then you may wake up the next day with a little acne. Because traditional costume makeup has a lot of oil in it, it is notorious for clogging pores and leading to acne. Luckily, we have a few suggestions for you if you still want to wear makeup on Halloween but don’t want to break out afterward.
Use Regular Makeup
You may think that the only way to get a certain look is with costume makeup but you’d be surprised to see just the looks you can make with traditional makeup as well. Regular makeup has less oil in it and so it’s less likely to break you out. Plus, you can pick eyeshadow pallets and contouring palettes that will help you achieve the same look as with costume makeup but without the harmful chemicals.
Use Clean Brushes
You may not realize this, but your makeup brushes harbor a lot of germs and bacteria which alone can lead to breakouts. Before you start applying your Halloween makeup, make sure that you clean your brushes beforehand; that way you know that you are starting with a clean slate.
Wash Your Face Afterward
No matter how tired you are after your big Halloween party, make sure that you go to bed with a freshly washed face. By getting off all of the makeup on your face, you can prevent against breakouts in a big way.
