How to Stay on Track and not Gain Weight During the Holidays

CoolSculpting Glenn Dale, MDThe holidays are here which means that joy is in the air and that tables are overloaded with sweet treats and savory snacks. And although it’s okay for you to indulge a little bit here and there, if you just got CoolSculpting done from Callender Cosmetic and Dermatology Center, it’s important to make sure that you don’t gain weight. To help you stay on track, we have created a list of helpful tools for CoolSculpting patients and everyone else to use.

Read the Labels

That handful of peanut butter pretzels may seem like a better choice than that chocolate chip cookie, right? One of the best things you can do if you’re trying to avoid weight gain during the holidays is to start reading the labels. You may be surprised to learn that not only do those peanut butter pretzels have more calories and fat, but they have more sugar than that cookie as well. By becoming informed about what you’re putting into your body, you can help to keep the weight off for longer.

Stay Active

Even though cuddling up under a blanket and drinking hot chocolate may sound like the best thing to do when it’s cold outside, there are also a bunch of other holiday activities you can do to stay active. Can you say the tree was decorating? All of the up and down on a ladder is sure enough to burn calories and get your heart rate up in the process— a win, win in the book of weight management.

Load Up on Veggies

A great way to fulfill your holiday munchies without gaining weight? Load your plate up with 75% vegetables— they will fill you up, give you the nutrition your body needs, and they’re low in calories which means that you’ll have a little bit of room to have a bite of that brownie you’ve been eyeing all night long.

Although CoolSculpting is a great way for patients to get rid of stubborn, unwanted fat, it still requires patients to maintain their weight through healthy eating and frequent exercise.
