Wax on, Wax off: 3 Ways to Get the Most Out of Your Waxing Treatment

Waxing | Glenn Dale MDLet’s face it; there is nothing remotely sexy about a woman having hairy legs, underarms, or a bikini area. And when keeping up with shaving starts to feel like a full-time job, it’s time to consider getting a waxing treatment from one of our aestheticians at Callender Cosmetic and Dermatology Center. From avoiding tweezing to staying moisturized, this article will discuss three ways that you can get the most out of your waxing treatment. Read on to learn more.

  • Avoid Tweezing

If you are a “picker,”  the type of person who can’t leave a hair or a pimple alone, this step might be especially difficult for you. In between your waxing treatments, make sure to avoid tweezing any straggly hairs. Tweezing will disrupt the hair follicle and will make it difficult for our aestheticians to pick up every last hair during your next waxing treatment.

  1. Wait for Longer In-Between Treatments

Did you know that you will get a better wax if your hair is longer? Longer hair makes it easier for the wax and paper to adhere to, which means that the hair will be easier to extract. Although you may be tempted to head into our waxing salon every few weeks to get a wax done, try waiting 4-6 weeks in-between each treatment. And, the more consistently you get waxed, the longer it will take for your hair to grow back, which means that waiting that extra few weeks won’t be nearly as difficult to do.

  1. Stay Moisturized

It’s important to make sure that your skin stays moisturized— especially during this time of year. To help keep your skin smoother and to show off your newly waxed body, apply a moisturizing cream or lotion across your body at least once a day. By sealing in the moisture, lotion and creams will make your skin look and feel smoother.

Get the most out of your next waxing treatment by using the tips listed above. To learn more about waxing or to schedule your next appointment, contact Callendar Cosmetic and Dermatology Center today!
